Breaking News, Digital Desk- (UP News) The Uttar Pradesh government is taking a major step to strengthen the state's road network and connectivity.
As part of this initiative, a new link expressway is being built, connecting the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and the Ganga Expressway.
This approximately 90-kilometer-long project will be the state's most expensive link expressway, with an estimated total cost of ₹7,500 crore.
This means the construction cost per kilometer will be approximately ₹80-83 crore, making it even more expensive than the Gorakhpur Link Expressway's total cost of ₹7,300 crore. This ambitious expressway will play a vital role in facilitating connectivity.
Why is this expressway expensive?
To upgrade this Link Expressway project, several advanced features have been added, which has increased its cost. These features include a state-of-the-art drainage system, roadside fencing to prevent animals from crossing the road, the construction of 29 major bridges, and several modern safety measures. The expressway will be built using greenfield technology (new track on new land), making it a high-tech project.
This is why it is special-
According to a published report, this expressway will directly connect the Ganga Expressway (594 km) to the Agra-Lucknow Expressway.
This will not only benefit local commuters but also make travel easier for travelers traveling from Delhi to eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
It will provide better connectivity, especially for the people of Farrukhabad and surrounding districts. This area could prove to be important for agriculture-based industries and regional development.
A new economic corridor
Experts believe that this expressway is not just a road, but an "economic corridor." It will provide a new impetus to trade, transportation, and investment in eastern India. The route will play a vital role in the industrial, agricultural, and logistics sectors.
