News: The impact of rising inflation is also being felt on diesel and petrol prices. Due to the rising prices of diesel and petrol, more people are purchasing electric vehicles. Consequently, charging stations are being built on highways. Let's learn more about this.

Charging centers will be set up

Following the opening of North India's first truck-trailer battery swapping and charging center in village Panchi Gujran, the DICT has shared its strategy for the coming year.

The DICT plans to shift two of the country's busiest highways to e-highways within a year. More than 250 truck-trailer battery swapping and charging centers will be established on NH-44 and NH-48.

Planning to cast logistics

A fleet of 115 e-trucks has been initially commissioned at the Panchi Gujran station. Another fleet of 150 trucks is scheduled to be commissioned within a year. A network of these centers, similar to petrol pumps, will be established within the next year.

The national minister has announced a plan to reduce logistics costs by competing with private companies in the transport sector. The government is working on a plan to reduce freight charges and pollution in the country by increasing the use of e-trucks.

A big step in the transport sector

The AGM of Delhi International Container Terminal stated that DICT has initiated a revolution and transformation in the transport sector by opening a truck-trailer battery swapping and charging center in Panchi Gujran, Sonipat.

With DICTS' collaboration, DICT has launched a fleet of 115 e-trucks. Battery swapping and charging centers have been established here for these trucks and trailers.

DICT gave information

DICT is going to start 250 truck-trailer battery swapping and charging centers in the next one year on NH-44 going from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir and NH-48 going from Delhi to Chennai.

Giving information, he said that first of all, land is being looked for starting centers in Karnal, Panipat, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Pataudi within 50 km radius of Sonipat.

After this, a network of truck-trailer battery swapping and charging centers like petrol pumps will be started in seven states on NH-48 going from Delhi to Chennai.

Preparations made to reduce logistics cost

By adopting e-trucks, a plan is being worked out to reduce logistics costs in the transport sector and to benefit transporters and the general public.

Diesel powered trucks run for Rs 100 for three kilometers and also cause heavy pollution, whereas battery powered trucks will run for Rs 12 for three kilometers and on top of that, it will not cause any pollution.

With this battery setup, a truck or trailer can cover a distance of 180 kilometers carrying 40 tons of goods. After this, the battery will have to be charged or swapped.

E-trucks will hit the road

The Union Minister explained that currently only one or two companies have introduced e-truck-trailers. Competition among larger companies to manufacture e-trucks will begin when transporters and the public will benefit.

Currently, EIM has launched e-trucks on the road. When Tata, Volvo, Ashok Leyland, and other companies also manufacture e-trucks, transporters will benefit and people will have to pay less freight.

Freedom from diesel and petrol

He informed that work is underway to develop hydrogen-powered trucks. Tata is operating three trucks as part of a pilot project. In the future, plans are underway to eliminate pollution by eliminating diesel and petrol. Soon, the focus will be on adopting indigenous technology in this area.

Currently, due to road construction, logistics costs in the country have decreased by six percent. This is expected to reach nine percent by next year. If you adopt EVs, CNG, flex engines, and hydrogen, transportation rates will be halved by next year.

The minister gave information

The minister announced that plans are underway to operate a high-tech bus equipped with flex charging between Delhi and Jaipur. This bus will charge in 20 seconds using flex charging and proceed on its journey.

Flex charging facilities are available at various locations along this highway. A charging cable will be attached to the bus, allowing it to charge instantly.

Bus facility will be available like an airplane

The bus, equipped with airplane-like amenities, will carry 135 passengers. It will feature executive-class chairs and LEDs on every seat. Tea and snacks will be available, just like on a plane. Work on this bus is currently underway, and plans are afoot to launch it soon.
