Haryana Weather: This time, the cold weather in Haryana may break records. Dr. Shivendra Singh, a meteorologist at the Haryana center of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), said that due to heavy rainfall in the first week of October, the temperature this time is below average.

Currently, the minimum temperature has reached 15.7 degrees Celsius. If the temperature reaches 10 degrees or below, it will be the coldest weather in 15 years. According to previous records, the lowest temperature was recorded at 10.9 degrees on October 28, 2020.

Heavy rains bring down temperatures – Meteorological Department

Haryana received about 30 millimeters of rain last week due to a western disturbance, which is 649 percent more than normal. Normally, only 4 millimeters of rain falls in the first week of October. 

According to the previous record, a total of 58.4 millimeters of rain was recorded for the entire month of October in 2004. This has caused the average temperatures in various districts to drop below normal.

Gurugram and Hisar have the lowest temperatures, with the coldest weather

According to the latest weather department data, the minimum temperature in Gurugram and Hisar reached 15.7 degrees Celsius. Yamunanagar recorded a maximum temperature of 27.8 degrees Celsius, about 6 degrees below normal. 

The maximum temperature in Nuh district was 33.4 degrees Celsius. Fresh snowfall in the hills and northwesterly winds have intensified the cold in the plains as well.

Favorable weather for sowing mustard – Dr. Madan Kheechaad

Dr. Madan Khichad, Head of the Department of Agricultural Meteorology at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, described this season as highly suitable for mustard cultivation. 

He said that the weather will generally remain dry until October 17th, with mild sunshine during the day and increasing coolness at night. Farmers have been advised to sow good mustard varieties during the suitable weather, which will improve crop yields.
