Major revelation in Haryana ADGP Y Puran Kumar's suicide case, read all the major updates so far

A sensational case has emerged within the Haryana Police, where senior IPS officer ADGP Y Puran Kumar committed suicide by shooting himself in his Chandigarh home . The case has now been tainted by allegations of bribery, further complicating the investigation.
Allegations of bribery demand, PSO's name surfaced
Praveen Bansal, a Rohtak-based liquor businessman, recently filed a complaint with the police station alleging that Sushil Kumar, the ADGP's PSO, demanded a bribe of ₹2.5 lakh per month.
The businessman claimed that the money was being demanded in the name of Y. Puran Kumar. When he refused to pay, Sushil threatened and harassed him.
Based on this complaint, Sushil was arrested and sent to judicial custody. During the investigation, Sushil's gunman admitted that Y. Puran Kumar had instructed him to demand the bribe.
Posting disputes and mental pressure
Just about a month ago, Puran Kumar was transferred from his post as IG of Rohtak Range to the Police Training College, Sunaria, in what was considered a departmental punishment posting.
Now, rumors are swirling that he was mentally disturbed due to bribery allegations. He had a reputation as a strict and honest officer.
Suicide mystery: Shocking incident in basement in front of son's eyes
The incident occurred while the entire family was on a trip to Japan. Puran Kumar's body was found in the soundproof basement of his government residence in Sector 11.
It is reported that he shot himself in the earlobe with a revolver while sitting on a chair in front of his daughter. A nine-page suicide note and a will, which include the names of several senior officials, were also recovered from the scene. The contents of the note will only be released after a forensic examination.
Who was Y Puran Kumar?
Puran Kumar was a 2001 batch IPS officer of the Haryana cadre. Originally from Andhra Pradesh, Puran repeatedly protested internal corruption within the system throughout his career.
He was a graduate of IIM Ahmedabad and held an engineering degree. He also faced numerous conflicts with senior officials in the department.
Further action
The Chandigarh Police have intensified the investigation. An investigation team led by Rohtak Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarnia is examining every detail of the case. The investigation is ongoing, both into the allegations of corruption and the background to the suicide.
